Peasant – Shady Retreat LP

By tuesday

Peasant are signed to a label called Tree Records or something, let me search for it… fuck my internet is being wack, gmail taking a while to load, etc. Anyway, whatever record label is also signed Alcoholic Faith Mission who are maveric.
The label they are signed to is Paper Garden Records.

Peasant are pretty soft, I would recommend them to people who like Bon Iver and other such folklights. The good thing is they aren’t some ‘folk’ band who play ‘heartfelt songs’. There is a degree of weight behind each of the tracks I listened to.

Definitely winter music, it’s really hot here now but you could still listen to this in the evenings. In fact, anytime post 830 pm, if you are well hydrated and walking in a park. The melodies are intricate and the voice is at times trembly, music for introverted times.
